Here's me hoping he's still alive but... I bet your heartbroken since that is a clown loach. They are not only a little more difficult to find, they grow slower and more expensive.
I once made a mistake with an alligator gar I rescued from an LFS. He is fully shredded, all fins torn and sliced, long open cavity on one of its sides. I nursed it back to health. While doing this I read from a poster here that you just cannot save them all. One week later the gar took out 7 SD's more expensive than he is per each fish in 3 days. He cannot eat them since they are wider than his mouth. 2 weeks ago he started it again with the tinfoil barbs. I have 6. Woke up to one Tuesday morning with a fully scale-stripped tinfoil with its face inside the throat of the gar. I told myself, it will happen all over again. Well you can say that the gar went into a time out...permanently... My stomach still turns when I remember how my thought turned dark... The sad part is he is supposedly to be up for sale with the barbs or to be donated to a local museum.
