Best way to get pikes to start eating pellets

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just got a pair of lents as well and they really are tough but I have got bass to convert so I think it will happen. It definitely helps to have tank mates that will take pellet. Let them see something else eat it and they tend to watch with a purpose.

There are plenty of other fish eating pellets in their tank. They come out swim around but just don't seem interested and they definitely have attitude just not an appetite. I even tried the extreme cichlid pellets that other people had luck with an nothing.

Yeah, I think its about time you get something in his stomach. No fish can resist bloodworms, And from there, see if he will accept earthworm flakes or another high protein flake, slowly working up to pellets.

I started mine out on bloodworms just to get them eating, then tried the pellets. It took them a week or so but now they devour pellets and are growing well. I think the most important thing is to make sure they have any appetite at all. Try bloodworms or something else to entice them to eat, just to make sure they're even hungry. If so, then try the pellets.

Mine aren't lents but I doubt it matters.

I agree with "bordinpeg" competition seemed to get mine going. To keep a little weight on them I gave krill and freeze dried plankton. I use salmon and hikari sinking pellets. I feed live feeders every blue full moon. Good Luck!!!!!!
