best way to get rid of algae

i have an algae problem in my tank. i do 50% water changes a week the tank is not near a window and my light is on for only 4 houres. i tryed algaefix from api but it hasnt worked. what should i try next. oh and the algae is green

get a pleco to take care of it

plecos wont do a good job in the long run for algae... is algae on the decoration or is in the water (is the water green?) a UV sterilizer might fix your problem

the water is clear its on the decorations and the sides of my tank and i cant put a pleco in my tank of it will be lunch

if its on the glass, i personally just get a paper towel and rub it off... decorations, i take them out during water changes and just scrub them clean.

what do you have in your tank that a big common pleco can't live through? lol.

i have 3 synodontis cats and they already beat up 2 common plecos that were 5in and 7in

I actually like algae on my tanks decor gives it a more natural look. Now on the other hand I don't like growing on the tank walls unless its the rear panel.
