Best way to get rid of fish poop?

I always like to direct current in my tanks, so most the debris settles at one end where I can easily see it, and conveniently siphon it out.
I don't like it ending up in filter where it gets converted to nitrate running nitrate numbers up to deleterious levels (unless the filter is frequently cleaned.
This especially applies to tanks with canisters that are seldom cleaned.

I have one of the older Koralia 8's on my 166 plus two outflows coming back from my sump. Most of the tank moves beautifully except one little spot where I can take a net and grab out any poop. The rest makes it to the overflow. My puffers poop is pretty big and unless it breaks up, it'll end up in the corner (pieces of shrimp shell, etc.)
