Best way to get rid of snails

It really depends on the type of snail. Op, what snails are they? If they are MTS- Malysian Trumpet Snails then they can be difficult but not impossible to get rid of them. If this is what you have then here is some tips.

First off. A blooming snail colony is normally signs of to much food. Excessive things the snails are thriving off of. Try feeding less, Keep your plant waste down to a minimum. Pull dying leaves and debris. Next.. MTS are live bearers.. They do not lay eggs. They actually have live young. So collect as many of the adults (and juvies as you can. Take a large section of Cucumber in the tan on the substrate. Especially when its dark. give them an hour. Most times there will be quite a few on the cucumber, Just pull it with the snails out. Loaches and Botia will not go after adult MTS. the shells are to stout. They may go after young. Ive seen people dose heavy copper and not kill MTS. Ive got MTS in my hospital tank that have now survived several month long doses of copper and Formalin and other meds. They are still there.

I just did water changes once every week for one year lol. New they are gone. I kinda miss them cuz they were decent glass cleaners.

Snails r actually good for a planted tank.
The problem is keeping them under control.
Someone makes a live trap for snails, not sure of the name. Pretty much a container w little trap doors. Snails go in for food and then can't get out. Once a day just empty the trap
A puffer will take care of the rest
