Best way to grow out a huge dovii

I feed my 3.5 inch umbee around 8 times a day and in from Jan 19 to today, he is pushing a whopping 6 inches Hikari cichlid pellets, the one in the red plastic bag. 5 of them in a 105 gallon tank

how often do you do water changes

I once read a study that suggested that a regular light schedule with long day periods increase growth. I should note however that the study, if I remember right, was done on catfish (or maybe tilapia) and I read it a long time ago. It may be worth looking up though.

My tank is outside ang gets about 10 hours of natural light plus the x number of hours when I turn on the light to watch and feed the fish at night

If you want monster fish, gotta feed him monster food. I'd use Hikari Massivore as a staple pellet. Can't top that for a big predatory fish and great growth rates.

15% WC daily, clean pre-filter mechanical 3 times a week + with high quality food (variation is the key) will top off the growth rate.

Feed several times a day (4-6x) and do large water changes, around 70% weekly (or 40% twice a week).

Patience is the key, growth slows down after 12", it can take a while for them to reach 18"+
