Best way to keep salvini cichlids.

I have mostly kept females which I’ve always heard are less aggressive. Never had breeding pairs, but wouldn’t in a community tank. A 100g tank isn’t suitable for any of those species and that is where the problem was. One of the three species would come up on top, salvini were the ones at that point. If it were a JD, the outcome wouldn’t be any different.
