Best way to make a stand cheap?

Hi guys, whats the best way to make a cheap cabinet stand for a 55gal? That is, 4' long by 14" wide tank.

I was thinking of 4 4x4 for supports and then have 4x2 as supports connecting all four 4x4s. I was thinking of dove-tailing the 4x2 together for added strength. Also want it big enough to potentially have a 3ft underneath if the opportunity arises.

Have any other suggestions or questions?

It's an awesome thread, Pharaoh. It's one of the first I read on MFK, and a big part of what made me join. You should compile a website or at least another thread somewhere with all of the different builds of stands in it, without all of the comments around. Maybe even specs with the builds, so everyone can see exactly what materials & such you used for it.

But at the very least- Thanks for the awesome thread there!
 
I could probably work on getting a consolodated thread together once I get the fish room done. I'll keep that in mind.
 
Thanks guys they're awesome. At least that brings the price down only having 2x4s, better for a 13yo on a tight budget lol.

Thanks there. That was a pretty random reply though. lol. I am unsure what kudos means either?
