Best way to!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use a python (actually a generic but same thing). I couldn't imagine doing water changes with a bucket. I would have to carry 40 - 50 five gallon buckets a week each way. SCREW THAT!!!!

I have two pythons but don't use them anymore. I have found that I have nearly cut my water change time in half with a super cheap alternate.

I have a plastic adapter for the sink to attach a 1/2" I.D. poly hose to it. They are around a dollar at home improvement stores. I use two long clear poly. hoses for water changes. One hose is around 60 feet and is run outside to the lawn from the siphon. The other hose is run from the sink to the tank for filling.

I have 19 tanks running now and the python method will not work for me. I am draining the next tank at the same time that I am filling the last one!

I use my python pretty much the same way you do. I attach the gravel vacuum to a hose that goes out on my back deck while the other part of the python goes to my bathroom sink and puts water back in my tank(s) via a second hose.

Auto water changer w/filter. No prime, no time, easy as pie!

Ever posted pics of your auto water changing system? Would be interesting to see how people set them up. Cool stuff.

Thanks for all the suggestions i am going to have to invest in a python.
