If you add salt to your tank they will corrode

If you add salt you may also kill the koi. I´m not speculating here. In germany I once spoke to a heat exchanger manufacturer that often had to write reports for court cases involving metal poisoning of koi due to the combination of salt in the water and cheap heat exchangers leaching nickel.
