I love imbellis!! I am going to keep some in my 900g when I build it for the house we move into. Yeah, I asked you that in another post lol...so whichever one you see first I guess... my bad. You should the IBC just rocks. and Bettatalk.com is just awesome, Faith Granger is a really talented breeder, and all newbs to betta should visit her site before they do ANYTHING.

Where at in the lounge I went but didn't see them. I coud have over looked them but don't thank so.

well she does have a little white dot on her belly.. she's actually red finned and pink in body with blue to her when she turns a certain way in the light. but i've noticed the white dot has never left her in t he 7 months i've had her.

i got bettas breeding atm, when i had the female in a little clear box hanging in the tank for the male to go batty over, he did just that ... and too batty to even build a nest. so i blacken out two sides of the transparent box, so he could just see her from a couple of sides ... he knew where to come for a look, but the two blacked out sides were enough for him not to get too distracted and he build a nest ... in the meantime, lots of live food for both of them, mossie larvae, blackworms, brineshrimp, as well as an assortment of dry food. Once the nest was built i removed the blackouts. the female had had her peace, and the male enough to build a nest, so they went nuts once i released the female into the tank proper. I've bred lots of betta this way ... live food never goes astray. this particular female is the nurturing kind, too, helping to keep the nest in good repair and collecting the eggs to spit into it. regardless, always take the female out after spawning, coz the male will tear her to shreds.

That really depends on if your breding Vail tails or crown ,halfmoons, deltas, supeerdeltas. With the vail tail the female can stay in the breding tank as the male will let her stay for a while, But with the others the male will kill the female. I even had a V/T male let the female stay in the breding tank til the fry hatched. Vail tails have a totally differnt temperment.

Horizontal Bars sorry to inform you about his bnut horizontal bars show stress to check this take the female and swirl her water until you see the bars, when she bars you will notice that you didnt make her pregnant. Vertical bars are the signs that you should look for though will not be totally apparent on lighter colored females. Also female Bettas will tuck the perctoral fins into the bodyand swim face pointed down and will stand on their heads on the bottom of the aquarium and will wriggle making it look like the female is dancing mean while the male will be swimming in adramatic S shape. When the female is released watch them as when breeding finishes the male will attack the female and probably try to bite her gills trying to kill her. If you do not remove the female the male will either kill her or the female will eat the eggs and young fry. So good luck with that, and if you have any more quewstions that you would like to me to answer about bettas email me at my contact.

hey what color are your wild bettas chances are that they are not wild stock if you can breed them and get good finnage out of them hit me back and tell me what kind of fins they have and what colors you get out of them.
