Betta Egg problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
don't worry.. It may happen if the male is not experienced.. Remember that they never bred before. Male Bettas are isolated whenever they are maturing.

I have sad news :(

His eggs didnt hatch, and also 2 days ago he got fuzzy lips, i used meds but it was too late, he was floating last night :(

My condolence...
Anyway, do you have any idea how your betta got ill? Maybe bad water parameters or something? F

i used my test kit and everything looked ok. I just got this betta recently, it might be a possibility that he already had something.

was a silver betta with a blue face, i called him old man haha

Lol. yeah, if the betta hasn't lived in good conditions, chances are that he might have a shortened lifespan....

Interesting, I've had betta eggs hatch after 36 hours. Perhaps, you should have left the female betta in longer.

There is a great Betta Site you can go to with tons of Betta Articles

What for? I don't understand what would have changed in the presence of the female?:screwy:

from what ive read it says take the female out, once the male is done and the female is being chased/harrased. After she dropped her eggs she was running from him so fast i almost had to catch her lol.

he wasnt very old though, im not sure when betta get fertile. mabe he wasnt?

Even if the female laid only part of her "egg stock" they would have been fertilised and would hatch. I had young males and females to breed successfully, they mature quickly. For this case, I might blame it on a mistreated unhealhty male...
