Betta fish fighting ring where do u stand?

I was wondering how people feel about people who instead of dog fighting, do fish fighting. I personally don't like ANY form of animal cruelty PERIOD [even rodeo]..but my question is, should betta or any type of fish fighting be punishable to the degree of a felony? [such as in Florida]...should it be equal to dog fighting, or not a crime at all in your opinion...thoughts?

i believe any form of animal cruelty is wrong , including fighting fish , anyone who can inflict pain or stress on an animal for their own enjoyment or gain should be severely punished , i find it unbelievable when i see programs on the tv about animal abuse , it makes no sense to me at all , do unto others and all that . as my gran says "if you stand for nothing you will fall for anything " and anilmal cruelty is one thing i speak out on with no exception .
 
thats why the fish has been breed. hence why it really even exists to the degree it does. i wouldnt do it and dont agree with it but that is why it exists. basicly i wouldnt do it, dont agree with it but i dont make a big deal out of it

gotta agree.
the whole reason the betta keeping started was to fight since males naturally hated each other.
but they do do it in the wild,so i dont see much difference in captivity since most of the time they remove the fish before anything serious actually happens.
 
ya i really dont care if they fight them or not i most likely would not though
its nowhere near the same level as dog fighting i mean its a fish i like my fish but their no where near as important as my dog
 
i like my fish more than my dog, but i don't think it is that bad cuz they usually don't fight the fish 2 death like in dog fighting.
 
you like your fish more than your dog???
