Betta in heaven .

4 yr is about the life expectancy of betta. Droping dead of old age often has no symptom

The betta was quite young. We only had it around 6months if that. Its my daughter that's 4 years old not the fish.

must admit when I read the title of the thread I thought you had set up some crazy SE Asian biotope for a betta and was expecting to see some cool pictures, not the bad news your daughters pet had died.

I do have a 4foot with nothing but 2 amano shrimp in it now the betta has gone.
A new biotope could be on the cards.

I wanted to cry when my Paradise fish passed away last year, they're very personable fish! Like a bigger, faster Betta

24 hours in and I'm getting attached to it to,o, very active and getting along with its 2 goldfishtankmates. Coloured up nicely too.

Go for it, even the most elite elitist would consider a 4 footer with 2 shrimp to be understocked ?
Maybe keep the betta theme going and set up an Asian rice paddy or bamboo forest type scene, I don't often see proper south East Asian biotopes anywhere.
