I set up a 5g hex in my daughter's room for her betta. The way the lid is made, I have to remove the lights, lid and filter to wipe algae so i'm adding a Clown pleco tomorrow. This is the first betta i've had with a filter so i'm wondering, what else have people kept with their bettas? This is a non heated tank.

Im not sure what people mix with bettas but as long as it can handle the temp and doesnt look like a betta it should be fine

Don't add the Clown Pleco to an unheated tank, they require tropical temperatures of 26 - 28 degrees Celsius (80 - 82 Fahrenheit) and are not efficient algae eaters, they won't keep the tank clean. You could add a small group of White Cloud Minnows or Zebra Danios, these will do ok in an unheated tank.

Nerite snails are your best bets, Toehead. PM Arakkis or msjinkzd for nerites in AC. Plecos are poo machines. Don't even think of adding these ones. Nerites will sooner or later need to be supplemented with algae which can be cultured or algae wafers. I don't think they eat vegetables nor fishfoods. I already tried and they've ignored the foods so far.

Goldfish.
But you have to watch the ammonia
goldfish are dirty guys.
None of the goldfish is suitable for a 5g. If you reread the post, Toehead is asking to mix something with a betta which in this case, a goldfish is out of the question.

Ok geez rude SORRY!

The frog should be fine. ADFs are kept at a minimum of 2.5g per adult.
