in a 5 gallon.. u can try school fishes.. but i recommend having a heater.. if not.. just put in Guppies or Tetras or Molly..
They can sorta do fine with out a heater..
its that or Feeder fishes.. not much of a choice without heaters..

I had a betta in with a frog in a 2.5 did fine. depending on what kind of lighting is being used you might not need a heater in that small of a tank.
a incandescent can keep a tank warm or sometimes to warm.

Sounds like too small of a tank for a clown pleco. Might want to go with at least a ten gal if you want a clown pleco.
