NEW YORK
So I decided on which fish I want to breed and it is going to be Betta's. I am looking for a pair of Betta to breed. Aquabid are mostly out of the country and prices are way up there. Please help me out.

You really are best to look at the the Bettas on Aquabid. I just started bringing them in from Thailand a few months ago and their stock is so vastly superior to 99% of what you will find here in the U.S. The process is actually much easier then you would think. The only thing that you should note is that I would suggest buying a few at once. The Thai breeders will only charge $5 a fish to get here to the U.S. However the transhippers who are for the most part are very fair have to charge you Priority Mail at minimum. The cost is only a few bucks more for 5-6 fish then it would be for 1. Therefore you can tack on $30 to the cost of your fish (appx.) if there is only 1, compared to about $4-$6 a fish if you buy a few. The last thing I found is that the transhipper you choose is important. Linda Olsen in Colorado is excellent. I won't mention any names, but I declined using transhippers that are closer to me because they would not respond at all to calls or e-mails. Linda has a betta background and always happily answers any questions you might have. Hope this helps. Thai bettas are the best!

Disagree. Thailand imported bettas are more likely to be weakened from shipping and equally good bettas can be found in the USA.
