Disagree. Thailand imported bettas are more likely to be weakened from shipping and equally good bettas can be found in the USA.

What kind of crap statement is this? Of course a fish that has travelled half way around the world in 2 inches of water is going to be "weakened from shipping". What is your point? The fact is, is that asian bred fish, whether you're into betas, goldfish, flowerhorns, etc. , are typically of higher quality and better genetic stock than what is found here in the U.S. Keep trying though.....

I respectfully disagree. I've been keeping tropical fish since I was 5 years old and I'm now 45. I've also been in the pet industry on a wholesale/distribution level since 1995. I've yet to see anything resembling the quality of betta fish from Thailand. I've imported about 25-30 since August and have yet to have lose one. I did lose one after about a month, but these things happen. Bottom line a 3% rate of loss is not remotely bad. However, I do believe that the hobby is an ever-learning experience. I've heard you say that there are equally good bettas in the U.S. Please share where you found matching colors and quality. I'm eager to know.
