any special needs?

The water shouldn't be more than 15 centimetres deep, they're air breathers so shallower water makes their life easier.
To make him happy your tank needs to be atleast 3 gallons.

Yea they prefer to be in water..... Betta are pretty easy a 2 gallon tank with a nice filter would work great. And believe it or not they like thier water heated to like 74 or 76.

My betta did best when I had it in my 30 gallon tank with my goldfish. He absolutely loved it in there but he is in Betta heaven now. I gave him to my mother in law and she killed him. RIP

hes in a 5 gal the temp is 20 c hes IN water

Sounds like a good setup a slow flowing filter and some soft dense plants like hornwort or java moss would make him more comfy.live brine shrimp or mosquito larvae and he'll love you

hes got java moss a filter i turn on for a while just to curculate the water and just got some larva

Sounds like you are doing everything right. Good Luck!!!

How do you think a betta would do in a 55 with:

Zebra Danios
Clown Loaches
Tiger Barbs
Glass Catfish
Red-Tailed Sharks
Honey Dwarf Gouramis
Maybe some Paradise Fish

I'm wanting to do a blackwater biotope and want to add a betta. Just not sure with the gouramis. I'm hoping that maybe there will be enough other fish to distract them from nipping the betta's fins. What do you guys think?
