Bettas are often pretty docile. They have been line bred for color andfinnage for years and many have almost no aggression.Id say it will most likly work.

my gf has a 60 gallon tank with about 17 female bettas, 8 pencile fish 3 endlers a female guppy, 7 pygmy rasboras, a redtail shark, 6 corys, and some platies. Bettas havent hurt anything, they fought a little till the pecking order was acheived then everything is okay. Really friendly too they will swarm my gf's hand and stay there looking for food, and bite her if she doesnt give them any.

No, that's a color morph of the dwarf gourami. This is a honey gourami...

welli ment the dwarf ones then.
i've kept honeys before and wasn't refering to them.
the honeys are my 2nd favorite gourami. can you guess my first? LOL

I would actually worry more about the guppies hurting the betta than the other way around.
Guppies can be BAD fin nippers, and some male bettas sleep heavily to the point where you have to bang on the tank to even get them to wake up.
I put 3 guppies in a 20long with one of my male bettas and watched them constantly, worrying about whether or not the betta would mess with them.
Wellll, that was the least of my problems. My bettas fins started looking really ragged, I thought he had finrot. No, it turns out in the middle of the night when he was fast asleep the guppies were chewing on his tail....
After asking several people about this it's apparently not all that uncommon for guppies or platys to chew on fish that have long flowing fins. Having never kept any livebearers I had no idea.
But yeah, if mixing them I would watch closely that your betta doesn't get chewed on.

As far as bettas being aggressive towards other fish, the male in my community tank is very peaceful and many people keep male bettas with other fish. They seem to do well with bottom dwelling fish such as kuhlis and corycats but they'll often tolerate just about any peaceful fish.
One of my males did kill a small platy, but only after he got tired of platy constantly harrassing him. The platy would follow him around nipping and eventually he nipped back, hehe.
As long as the fish don't harrass your betta there's a very good chance they'll get along.

Female Bettas.

It's the males that would cause the bigger issues, females not so much.

Bettas are pretty mellow. If anything, I'd be worried about the other fish nipping at the Betta's fins.
