Hey guys..I have a female and male betta..the female seems to be full of eggs by her egg spot but the male never make a bubble nest..if I let them together they do not fight and don't even ask about mating..I have tried this with several pairs but no use..plz tell me the mistake I'm doing
Thx

Asian fighting beta breeding method.
*Make sure your male beta is old enough for breeding (at least 1 year old), and water temp is 78~80F
**separate male and female and hold them in small cup (bottle) with a piece of paper in between, take out the paper and let them see each other few times a day.
***When the female is ready to breed you WILL SEE her belly color change from white to yellow color.
****At that point move both male and female into breeding tank, the tank water should not too high (5~6 inches high is good), bare bottom is best cause the male will grab the eggs then place them in bubble net. You can also use Hornwort Ceratophyllum demersum on the water surface so the fries will stay in there.
*****Remove the female right after she laid all the eggs or the male will kill her.
Good Luck and have fun!

I have kept the fished .(separated,,but they can see each other) for over 6 months..but the female has never become dull or the male has never built a bubble nest

That is unusual. My male betta makes bubble nests every few weeks in the corner of the tank. Is there anything for him to build on?

I have not kept anything in the tank except pebbles
Try and get your hands on some hornwort or elodea, very easy floating plants that could promote bubblenest building. How much waterchanging do you do and what arw the tank sizes?

I do 40 percent water change every week..the tank is

That is incredibly small and open. I have a 20 litre tank with plants and a dark background and black sand. I doubt they will breed well in a tank so small.
