Which do you think would be a better bottom dweller with my 10" oscar in a 75 gallon tank. A sydontis catfish, a black banded leporinus, or a pictus cat.

Pictus may become a potential meal or if it's larger it'll choke the Oscar, unless you mean the 4-line pictus. I'd say a leporinus if you can find a good sized one, or a good sized syno

Never owned an Oscar but I owned a synodontis eupertus and it definitely can hold its own. I have 2 4 line cats and thy are great cats but not so active. I would say both cats are fine it's a matter of which one you like.

definitely. Had a BIG one in w/ Jags, JDs, GTs, Convicts, etc.....never had a scratch on him. Got 2 juveniles in my cichlid tanks now too

also a definite "NO" on the Pictus....spines will choke an Oscar to death.

Once thought Synodontis catfish were soft, but boy was I wrong had a Synodontis Angelicus in with highly aggressive African cichlids that were killing each other off two were left and one decided to attack the Angelicus big mistake it went round for round with them until I removed the African cichlids.

yea, I saw mine chasing my EBJD around 3-4am. this morning

Yea they can be pains in the behind when they want to.
never got any aggression from the big one I used to have, but then again, none of my cichlids bothered any of my catfish.....my pardalis plecos were the ones who had the attitudes, believe it or not.
