Better Engine Overall

Which engine is better overall. Better bang for the buck, power and speed and look better in a chevy nova or chevelle. I plan on buying one to rebuild so what do you think will be a better engine? And explain why please.

The 572 gets my vote for sure. Why??? More power on the low and high end of the spectrum. If that's not enough power for you, then add a super charger to it.

what are you looking for in the engine? street or strip? the only big engine ive ever had any experience with was a 502, and i cant imagine you needing more than what one of them gives, or can give with some extra air thrown its way.. fuel injected or carb'd? blueprinted?

from what ive read the zz572 crate engine is 12:1 did you plan on rebuilding it and dropping the CR? would be interesting on boost for sure... naturally aspirated i wouldnt drop the cr, 12.1 will still run on pump gas

I like the 572 but it's not exactly a cheap engine. Heck, crate engines go for $16k and more.

My vote is with the 572 also. More power all through the band, and come on, bigger is always better.

True.... Well im looking for a fun street and maybe ocassionally strip. I was thinking 572 too but wanted some more input. Ill probably super charge it too for more power! Im just liking other peoples opinions before I go out n buy stuff. Ill probably get mine from summit there really close by n have it listed for 14,000 costly but worth it
