Better Engine Overall

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i vote 572 all the way but remember if you go big hp you better have the drivetrain to hold it! from trans to the rearend build it all!

Alright

What do you think for drive train?

What are the cost of each engine? Also as others mentioned can it handle the extra power? Of course with the info given more power tends to be better.

Should I rebuild the train and transmission all or what?

for the amount of Hp I would rebuild it all if at all possible, having that kind of power on tap ussually tends to wear everything out pretty quickly ( I would concentrate on the trans, drive shaft have snapped many, rearend axles , gears, make sure you have enough stopping power too! )

What does your car have in it now ?

These are both crate engines, what do you mean rebuilding one?

I don't know your budget, but looking at Summit, there is a big price gap between the two. just looking at fully dressed assemblies (manifold, water pump, carb etc...) there is about a 4000 price difference in the two, and only 118hp difference (502 vs 620). is that extra 118hp worth 4000 for you, or would you be better off using that 4 grand towards a tranny and rear end that could handle the power? And then save up towards a blower or something you could add later.

oh, who am i kidding, bigger is better, screw these little things, call up Sonny and get something with some balls.

Where ou serious about the oh who am i kiffing better is better? And I didnt mean rebuild the engine just the back half transmission trans, drive shaft, rearend axles , gears, also what did you mean by stopping power?

kinda joking, but if money was no object, i would get one of his engines. Looks like the link didnt go thru, i'll repost it. He has some insane engines. 802 cubic engines pushing 1400hp on pump gas, stuff like that.

hmmm, the website is having trouble, if you go here, you can see the engines and hp number on the left, but for some reason they aren't showing when you click on it. For some reason his 802 isn't showing on that list, maybe he doesn't offer that one anymore (can still google it to see it), but still plenty with insane numbers on pump gas.

Cool sounds good. I may go with the 572 but ill look over these engines first. Those engines are sweet but really costly Ill see what funds are like! I really want one of his engines they are teched out!
