that is not a reliable way to tell sexes at all with these, once full grown, males will have Longer trailers but at this age its more based on color, when i had my pair my female actually got pointy fins way before my male did

yea i was gunna say the ones most of you guys labeled as femailes all of the trailers forming way befor the males did.

Best way I go by at the smaller sizes is the coloration on the gill plate.

some have a darker blue coloration while others have a lighter greenish blue coloration
