Hey guys, so I've had some garnet sand for about a year and a half (something like that) and don't seem to be getting the best out of all my bichirs. Some look outstanding, but others don't seem nearly as good as I know they can be. I look at some other tanks on here (notably cohazard's) and notice a much deeper color of sand. I am looking to see if anyone knows where to get a darker garnet. Something close to what he had.

lot of people that have a massive bichir collection uses the red garnet sand.

That's my problem. I thought this sand was red garnet sand. As light as it may look in the tank, it was WAY more red when not wet. I knew there would be a change in color, but not nearly as much as this.
maybe it was mislabeled or u got the wrong one? never had red garnet get washed out that much.
red garnet sand is sandblasting media so you should double check and see if it the right one.
sometimes theres similar labels so you gotta make sure.
Ask frank bro .... His is tomahawk garnet .... At least I think that's what he said it was called check with him
