Beware Of AquaTraders

I try to buy local myself... Keeping my city alive and flourishing... Plus the customers service tends to be much better when you buy from your local aquaria store...

Thanks a bunch for this post. My husband and I were a week away from buying a six foot odyssea light for around 500 dollars from aqua traders. The similar lights we've seen (marineland) run about 1400 dollars. (These are the combination lights). Now, after reading your post, and doing some extra research on both the seller and the manufacturer, we've decided not to go with this light. Unfortunately, that leaves us in a lurch, as we can't really afford the 1400 dollar light, and we've already got everything ready to go (including live rock and sand!) in our 180. I guess, though, that if you look on the bright side, at least we saved 500 dollars which can be used toward a better light.

I agree 100% . . .

I recently bought new lighting from my LFS; when I decided I didn't like the first fixture I'd bought, I just brought it back and made an even-up exchange for another . . . hassle-free, and a great customer service experience . . .

since I shop there regularly, they are always willing to work with me to get things right . . .

I live about 25 miles away from aquatraders. They also sell fish too at their store. Their fish prices are very good and I will buy fish from them anytime. I know they also do mail order stuff on their website.

I have a update, Aqua Traders finally sent me a replacement bulb, they packed it the same way as the last one and yes it too is broken!
