BGJD - Fry

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I thought I remembered seeing a thread on determining fry before and they were able to tell at the free swimming stage relatively well. Maybe I'm wrong.

But I do know that the eb will be whiter or yellower than the others before they are blue

Thought I would post an update on the fry. They have been dying steadily since they started free swimming. I believe I have 4 or 5 left out of about 200. :( I am changing my feeding routine for the fry so hopefully the next spawn will do better.

That sucks. I'm sorry. Hopefully they'll spawn again soon.

Hey guys. Well, I lost all of the fry from the first spawn. I did have another pair spawn yesterday. It was the same male and different female. They spawned in my 55 gallon community tank. This poses a problem for me. I've not had any spawn in a community tank before so I'm not sure when remove the fry etc. Any advice will be appreciated. The first fry seemed weak. I purchased bbs & and going to get daphnia from Petsmart for this next batch of fry. Hopefully they will do better. video of spawn - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EV0r3ldqfs here is a pic of all eggs spawn2.JPG

I thought I would update everyone on the second spawn. I relocated all of the other fish in the 55 gallon so it's just the pair of bgjds and their fry. There are a TON of wigglers. It's the first time I have ever seen a female have two pits instead of one. There are so many of them! This video shows one of the pits. They should be free swimming within 2 days. You can see their little tails already. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-0DGN-W2GI Will keep you posted. I have the bbs & daphnia on hand to start feeding once they begin swimming.
