Considering picking up a new wet pet. I've really wanted a fire eel to go in my tank. I'm concerned that the BGK and the Fire eel might have some compatibility issues because they would hide in the same areas and eat the same food.

Would one outcompete the other? Suggestions, comments, experience?

Thanks... I would love to pick up one if I could.

If they live the same way I dont think it would be a problem

They both are peaceful. Just make sure to provide lots of hiding places. In time both of them may even eat from your hand :)

Tank Setup - 135gal, fx5, mag350, korilla 4, 3 silver dollars, 3 Red blood parrots, 12" Green severum, 10 coreys (3 emerald & 7 swarts), 2 black spotted eels, 22" fire eel, 24" clown knife, sun catfish, and leopard plaeco

Well good news is that my BGK already does eat from my hand. It's pretty awesome. Most of my fish do that already too. They're not shy when I put my hands in the tank. Lol
