BGK diet?

Hey all!

I just took home a little 3" black ghost knifefish today (sorry, no pics yet!). He is in my 125g with some large clown loaches and a small fire eel.

My question is: What have you found to be the best diet for young BGKs?

The LFS i bought him from said he was eating frozen bloodworms and small frozen krill... does this sound right? I thought it was supposed to be pretty hard to get them on frozen food?

I had no problem, I brought mine home from the store where they said they fed them frozen bloodworms. Mine ate freeze dried bloodworms and mysis shrimp right away. But...add a cube of frozen bloodworms and he'll hit it like a shark. Mine eats shrimp pellets to after they have started to get soggy.

I have found that frozen foods are easily taken by BGKs.

Mine loved shrimp, bloodworms, and sinking krill pellets. Even ate earthworms, but I didn't feed those for very long.

yeah you can in a few cases but not very often

hey, my BGK is also 3'' in size, he loves dried bloodworms and he also accepts flakes. He hardly gets any though cause the Tinfoil barbs snatch them before he can reach any. But bloodworms seem to be his favorite.

3" BCK in a 125. You may want to keep him in a smaller tank till he gets bigger. It could be hard for him to find food in a tank that big..........
