BGK favorite thing to eat when its smaller?

My BGK is three inches and I have been feeding him bloodworms is there anything else they really like to eat when this small?

Besides bloodworms and live feeders what else to they love to eat? Beefheart?
 
im wondering as well...mine looooooves his frozen bloodworms...but im wanting to mix it up a bit
 
I used to have a foot long bgk, when he was small he lived on beef heart, blood worms, small pieces of shrimp. when he got bigger I gave him beef heart, bigger pieces of shrimp an meal worms. Mine really started to grow when I put beef heart and shrimp in his diet.
 
My new bgk has grown from ~4" to over 5" in the month and a half I've had him. He eats bloodworms and New Life Spectrum cichlid pellets usually, but I've given him small chunks of market prawn a couple times and he just loved it. Gotta pick up some more prawns...

preston, they go for meal worms? How big was yours when he started eating those?
 
Hey.. you could try hikari tropical food sticks and hikari sinking carnivore pellets.. my bgk started taking a liking for these when he was with my Silver Aro.. earthworms also go good.. cheers..

oh i jus saw that your bgk is only 3".. you could probably hold on till he/she is about 6".. but chopped earthworms you could try..
 
Mine loves hikari carnivore. I try to get all my fish eating pellets ASAP so I can set their feeders on timers if I go out of town. I feed frozen a couple times a week and stick with high quality pellets as staples.
 
Prawns? The only place I can think of buying them is at the store I live in a small town dont really have market places. So can I buy prawn at walmart?
 
I buy mine at the meat counter at the grocery store. If your walmart has a grocery dept then they probably have them. Don't get the precooked kind, but frozen is fine. Just thaw and cut it up in little pieces.
 
My is BGK is now 13" and he grew up on frozen blood worms. Now i feed him Hikari Massivore Delight and he goes absolutely bonkers. He's grown faster since, longer, and thicker. He's more active also. My bag of Massivore Delight was just some left over bag from before my Clown Knife jumped out of his tank. I wish i was feeding him this stuff sooner. I swear by this stuff. It's the ****.
