BGK Owners!!! Help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
BGK have very odd temperaments as it is so you may be worrying unnecessarily.

That's exactly what I had happen with fish with nitrites got to high on a cycle. Double check them maybe? I though that maybe the fish had gone retarded or something, they were acting like they should have been wearing helmets.

ok so this morning when i got up for work at 5:45 he was nowhere to be found, and i mean nowhere, i looked everywhere! but when i got home from work at 4:30 i found him, dead as a doornail on the bottom of the tank. petsmart has failed me yet again, and it couldnt be my nitrites or my water because my other fish are thriving and more lively than ever. i guess he was sick when i bought him. i feel bad for the poor little guy. i have always wanted one and now this happens. stupid petsmart. maybe i will find a healthy one someday.

That's an extremely small size to buying a BGK at, I'm guessing that it just suffered too much stress from being moved and introduced to a new tank at such a small size.

i do have an lfs but they never get any knifes or anything exotic. they just get the usual plain cichlids and maybe a rope fish sometimes. they wont special order me anything either. im going to take it back and get my money back and maybe buy a pair of convicts or somthing. idk i just cant believe it died that fast.
