i was having some problems with my BGK coz he would only eat one or two frozen bloodworms max. then i decided to drop a JMC pellet in his tank just to see if he would eat and he did! now i put three more in there and he ate it! its really weird, what will happen if he only wants to eat JMC pellets? will he be malnourished? he doesnt want any meaty foods, tried everything

He should tranfer over. Just stick with what he likes for now. When he gets tired of it you can try again. Or you can starve him out. Up to you.

It took my BGK a whole month to come around and start eating normal amounts. And even odder, she is a willd caught BGK (I hear some are CB) and she has given up silverside for carnivorous sinking pellets!!

How ironic eh?

how long have you had him for? Sometime's it takes them time to adjust to new settings. Usually they love bloodworms. You could try feeders or frozen food - but don't over feed.

i think it will be three weeks that he's been in quarantine now. i put some frozen bloodworms in with his pellets and i think he may have eaten both!hope so anyway...lol.no, i dont have the heart to starve him. he's too handsome! i.e. dark and dangerous lolll

try a small bit of prawn :)
My large bgk will eat anything apart from flake.
Do you know what the shop was feeding it on before you got it? As said above though it should eat bloodworm soon enough ;)

Mine will eat anything at all, even the algae sheets I put in for my rainbow fish. Try soaking whatever you're feeding in Garlic Guard - they find it irresistable!

I think there is something on the pellets that the bgk like. Some manufacturers will add thier secret ingredients to the pellet so any fish will want to eat it just like catnip.

ok, so today im going to go and buy some of that garlic solution stuff and soak some bloodworms in there. i wish my fish wouldn't give me so many worries during my exam time lol. also tried prawn, he nibbled it a bit but didn't eat that much of it. he just kind of tasted it, lol.

thanks munsta :)
