lab works with south american knifefish. we have at least 10 different species in the lab

BGK are very territorial. I think there is maybe one or two members here who have 2 in a tank together, but there is a possibility that they got lucky and got a pair. But usually, BGK are very territorial and don't like other Knives.

What species do you have?

ummm let see... i think this is all of them... so at least 13 differnt ones and maybe more

1. Black Ghost
2. Brown Ghost
3. Glass, Eigenmannia spp.- might actually be 2 different species in there not sure
4. Marbled, Adontosternarchus spp.- i think we only have one of these left.
5. Dragon, A. bonapartii- 3 of these left i think, i actually killed 2 of them recently
6. Gold-Line, Sternopygus macrurus
7. Elephant, Sternarchorhynchus spp- at least 2 different species
8. Pig-Duck, Parapteronotus hasemani
9. something that there genus starts with an O and i think an l afterwards. i know there are 2 distinct species though. can't remember their name
10. Tiger, Rhamphicthys rostratus- 3or 4 BIG ones
11. Sternarchogiton
12. P. gimbeli

A 22g tank isn't big enough for one BGK to grow up in let alone two, if you leave them in this situation you are just asking for trouble on matter how many hiding spots you give IMO.
