Bichir "backspines" bitten off, will grow back?

Their tails got bitten off a while ago and it grew back but it seems to have grown back in an odd shape and stopped growing now. : (
As long as some fin is left and clean water most times fin will grow back. I have a endli that was attacked a few years ago and he recovered well.
Btw sometimes you have instances where the fin will not grow back perfectly.
One of the bichirs was territorial everywhere and bit the other upon encounter until I removed the driftwood temporarily, now bichir doesn't bite anymore.
It will grow back, just do clean water, when i bought one of my black volta endli it had a split tail and it grew back, same thing when i bought one of my nigerian lap, one of the finlet was almost gone, it grew back but it looks wierd, lolz.
If the spine par of it broke it will grow back but not the same.
