I think so since I got it 3 days ago and observed this behavior in the second day

Did you got it from you lfs? If so i would return it, or i would ask the lfs if that fish got injured like ramming into the tank walls or jumping out of the tank. Look around the polys body or head and see if any discoloration, or it look like a slime coat came off, also you can look for possible blood around the skin.
