Hey Poly fans,

Yesterday I fed my fish some chunks of salmon fillet. My Ornate grabbed a chunk in it's mouth and did the crocodile death roll! he spun so fast it looked like a blur! He came away with a nice bite sized chunk and wolfed it down. Has anyone else seen this behavior in their Polys?

I've seen it in some feeding videos, but I dont own polypterus myself.

I have 2 albino bichirs that have huge bellies. I have never seen them eat live, but the entire shoal of rosies I had with them are gone. There were about 20 in the tank last week.

I got them as an impulse buy (they were on sale when I was buying frozen blood worms) and I have to say they have grown on me. I love the damn things.

Can't wait to see a mini death roll :)

My Polys yank their food off of their kabob sticks pretty hard but never a death roll.

Yeah I've seen in on utube, though mine do more of the side to side killing thing. Plus I'm afraid to feed them too big a piece of meat cuz they might choke( I've heard it can happen)But you can't tell me that these guys aren't related to crocs lol.

i have a sene that tries to deathroll my pinkie if i am careless

well mine only shake their heads fast or try to tear the food againts rocks or they help each other take it apart but no death roll, hope to see it some day
