Bichir eats/kills everything. Help!

Hi Craigh,

Try to get a divider/separator and separate the endli from other fishes. From my experienced, Senegalus, Delhezi, Ornates will take pellet food. I have 5 endlis, none of them will take pellet.

Your endli is still small and can be easily train to take dead meat. Mine eats small chopped market prawn, market fish, beefheart.

I've kept all my poly's together big and small with no problem b'coz all my poly's were trained to eat dead meat since small. I rarely feed them live fish.
If you feed them live fish, they become more aggresive and difficult to mix with other fishes.

Try the chopped market fish and i'm sure your endli will eat it when there's nothing else to eat but first separate the endli before all fishes gone.

Lastly, in future...you need a bigger tank.

Ciao.

try keeping it full, i have a 14" ornate and i can keep 2" fish with it for weeks as long as i keep him full

That endli will be over 10" by August. If you can't get it a bigger tank before then, your best option is to rehome it. When I had my poly's they loved kens sticks from kensfish.com. You can also try cutting up shrimp from the fish market. It's always best to get fish that are at least 2x the size of your endli's head. Ime anything smaller has a chance of being attacked.

agree, the endli will be over 10" by august. They grow really fast for the first year, then it slows down. If you ever decide to keep the endli, then why not getting a big tank already?something like 120g at least. Even so, don't bother trying to feed a juvi endli with pellets. Meaty food does better for their growth.
