Hi Everyone!

A newbie here in bichirs. I just recently acquired a 6" endlicheri endlicheri from a local fish store. I'm just wondering how many times in a day should I feed him? Is twice a day ideal (morning and night) or once a day (night) is enough? I feed him market prawn and I'll train him to take sinking pellets soon. He's currently housed in a 120 gallon tank with a silver arowana and 3 silver dollars. I'm quite fascinated with this fish and I'm planning to add an endlicheri congicus in the near future. Thanks!

Welcome to MFK! I have two 3" endlis and I feed them twice a day. Others would recomend 3 small feedings a day. Check out the stickies page of the poly forum! Goodluck with your endli and are you sure your arowana cant/wont eat him? Haha. Im from the ph too btw. :D

Welcome :)
Anyways i'd make sure that the aro can't eat him. Feeding 2-3 times a day when their small is ideal. When they get to about 6-7" 1 a day would be ideal. Anything larger you can feed 3-5 times a week. Or if you want to you can feed 2-3 times all the time for their entire lives, but when they get bigger they need a lot more food and food for polys can get expensive thats why most people fast them a couple days when they get bigger.

I feed every 2-3 days. But as babies I would probably feed once a day.
