Bichir: feeding/growing relationship

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just buy some foods that sink.
like whitebait,shrimp,sinking pellets etc.
normally sens growth become very slow once they hit around 9 inches.

You could get a thin piece of pvc, stick it to the bottom, and drop the pellets for the senegal through that. Then the other fish can't get them until they reach the bottom.

Pre-soak the pellets in tank water with a drop or two of vitamins that way they sink right away and are soft for the bichir to eat. Or you can hand feed. Mine willingly eat from my hand. Heck, my big one will let me pet him and swim through my fingers if I make an "O". Pretty cool little guy.
