Bichir for my 1100g

So what do you guys (the poly masters) think: get an albino/platinum endli or a PBB? Either one I would grow out
Personally I love the look of a high quality platinum endli but could not afford it. With pbb most of the wild caught come in at pretty good sizes and a third of the cost of a platinum.

If you can find a captive born pbb you might get the chance to grow it out. But dont see those available very often

Well, I have a nice 140g grow out tank (it has some fish in growing out for the 1100g) I was planning on putting whatever bichir I get in there first, and get it big enough to introduce to the 1100g.

Me personally i wont waste money on platinum.
1st it can cost you like 3 PBB
2nd most platinum is captive breed
3rd some that ive seen has deformation due to captivity.
Some say they do have wild platinum but if ever you can find one it will cost an arm or leg.
So ill go for PBB imo.

Right on everyone. I don't think I will mess with the platinum endlis.

Now, where do I find a PBB for sale in the Los Angeles area? And what is the market price for one?

It's funny that I feel like a total noob with polys lol.

PBB can cost for $300 to $500, there is a poly that is called sp. dabola that is really nice too.

I havent seen a PBB for sale in the market, even rehobothaquatics that carries alot of high quality bichirs dont have PBB in stock. If you want something close to a PBB that grows 18"+ i would look for lapradei varients.

Sp. Dabola is a great choice. :)
You're killing me, bro!

I like the look of the horizontal/lateral stripes of the PBB so I'm gonna hold out. Your Dabola is very nice, just not my style. I've got a ton of vertically striped fish in there already so I want to add variety.
