Gonna start proper bichir keeping lol. Just got a 13-14” endli, now mixing together with my ornate and delhezi. Is it normal to have cloudy eye during transportation? When I released it into the tank it’s eye had become cloudy ?

Probably was caused by the water it was in during shipping and transporting. It should clear up.

Nice, thats how addiction starts. I noticed you dont have substrate, i highly siggest it cause you might see some redness on your bichirs bottom cause of the hard surface from the tank.

How does having a smooth surface result in bichirs having red bottoms?
I would love to have substrate; but the overflow box in my tank is designed to have holes at the bottom which doesn’t allow me to add substrate, or substrate would be collected at the sump.

Interesting. The fluted overflow holes are
Also up top correct ? The holes on the bottom is likely just there in case the water level is low and it will still turnover water. U can plug that sukkker up and SUBSTRATE! Lol…..

Oh legit? I didn’t know it could be plugged up.

I find there are pros and cons to having substrate though. One thing is if I plug it up, I would have to clean up the poop myself, which I’m lazy to do lol. There’s a small wave maker at the bottom which allows waste to be suctioned into the overflow at the bottom. But if I had substrate, it would definitely brighten up the tank more and add more colours into the fish
