Thank you!

really? I’m not knowledgeable about upper jaw bichirs as much. The guy told me it was a palmas. He was quite unknowledgeable though. Thanks for confirmation
Sometimes p.polli and p. palmas can get mislabeled. Originally, pollis were considered a palmas subspecies, but that information has since been amended.
The easiest way to tell the difference:
Polli: darker solid coloration with polka dots, 5-7 finlets(not as many on their spines), rounder pec fins. I think your polli is CB based on the body and head shape. Mine is too and she is super interactive!
palmas: (talking about traditional palmas, not goldust bichir/buettikoferi, which is also a palmas)
diagonal bars, 7-10 finlets. Kinda looks like a delhezi. Might also have red coloration on the cheeks.

has a nice infographic made by Josh's Fish Josh's Fish and El May

IDing them can be hard. Once you start seeing more pictures of them it does get better! Of course, correct labelling helps too. That's awesome you feel confident about LJ bichirs. I still struggle with all the lower jaws. Don't even ask me about catch locations lol.

What species is this? Is it ansorgii or lapardeii? It looks to be a mixture of both, I’m unsure

Havent updated this thread since last year? After my bichirs got stolen I had no motivation to continue.
My biggest spending yet, 5 polypterus ansorgii, all about 24” long. All of them are from JZX in Singapore, wild caught. Size difference between my delhezi and The ansorgii is quite frightening, probably will get eaten ?
One of the ansorgii is green tinted, cost the highest fortune.

Good news: the delhezi is still alive ?

even with the lids closed, the ansorgii still managed to jump out. Luckily nearly no injury at all, thank god for their armoured scales. Placed some books on top of the lid, still not sure if it can withstand.
