Can a bichir be kept with a oscar and lmb?
How big do they get?
and what do they eat?

Sorry to be a nuisence after seeing your guys pics im really interested in them!

hi michael,you really want to read through as many posts on here regarding bichirs as you can.there are so many possibilities of tank sizes,tank mates etc etc that if i gave you every answer,it would take hours.

if you can list the basics first,then we can help

what size tank have you got/are getting??

what bichirs do you like???

list all tankmates that you are considering to go with the bichirs



if you can answer these questions,then we'll be able to be more specific

i have a 120g with a oscar and LMB, my lfs has the bichirs that are a plain cream colour not albino though and they are not specific with the name... does that help a little?
 
sounds like a senegalus, which gets to 10"-12" in aquariums. personally i'd be wary about putting it with the fish you have.
 
even better question... what is the size of what you forsee would be his possible tankmates?
 
thats a good reason to make sure there big enough no problems IF there big enough sounds like your LFS has senegals which stay pretty small if so i wouldn't that LMB will out grow it i would try to find a bigger bichir if you do a bichir could work in you tank

Also no need to feel like a nuisence

good idea. the bichir and oscar would probably be fine together, but the LMB will eventually eat the bichir. now, if you got a larger bichir species, that might not be the case.
