Bichir is swimming near surface, do i need to worry?

It is not common to see him swimming near the surface, would this be a sign of lack of oxygen in the water? But my water is agitated very well.. please advices

Hey hi I am a fellow bichir owner and I suggest you to put oxygen pump in the tank and please feed them some thing more than their diet to make them feel relaxed
 
Some of mine do this more than others, and some days they do it more than others.

Is this a new behavior? Have you checked your water parameters lately?

I second the secure lid thought, too. We've lost quite a few polys on this forum to jumping out of even small spots.
