I read the sticky by beblondie about the care and tank setup for these. It says they are generally low-light species of 1 -1.5 WPG. My 125 gal tank currently has 1.76 WPG. Could this work if i had enough cover for them.

it'll be fine...they adapt pretty well. i feed my bichirs at night after lights out anyway.

Yeppers it will be fine-Anne

It won't hurt them by any means but personally I keep mine at .25 wpg and they are MUCH more active.

would this work for stocking choices in my 125?

2 P. senegalus
3 Uaru
5 Herotilapia multispinosa (Rainbow) Orange
2-3 Blood Parrots
and also my 6-7" albino Chocolate Pleco

the pleco might give the polypterus a little trouble as they usualy find their slim coat irresistable lol

every thing else seems fine if you want an active polypterus get a senegal polypterus also known as the dinosaur eel , they are the cheapest and most common , also the most active in my opinion and can tolerate brighter light then most species

Not all plecos develop a taste for slimecoat it seems most common in Loricariidaes.Just keep an eye on the bichir and the other occupants for small round dull circles-Anne
