"xrayz" where did you get those 3M quartz? would love to have some of those. are they grainy like sand and are they sharp? thanks!

i'm changing from gravel to something like the one you have. one last question did yo use the T or the S type of 3M?i got the 3m colorquartz from National Pool and Tile. check the 3m website for distributers around your zip code. i am using the S grade which is fine like sand. it is heavy and has round edges, very good for bottom dwellers like bichirs and rays. here is a pic with the 3m red S grade and some wash sand for comparrison.
thank you for the info... as long as they are heavy enough that would be good. i just don't like it when it goes to the filter floss or filter impellers. i got 8 bichirs and planning to get some loaches to move the sand in the future. i'll check the website and find a nearby distributor. do you know if they sell it on a smaller bag? like 25 lbs? i'm planning to get 100lbs of white and 25lbs of black. just wondering. thank you for the help!
as far as i know it only comes in 50# bags. maybe you can use the extra black sand in another tank if you dont have another tank, that is a good excuse to get one...hahaha
