When your fish jumps out you dont think "Oh I need to get a video of this" you run around like mad trying to pick it up...
i so totally agree with you on the running like mad thing

you thought it was dead so you left it on the floor a couple hours:screwy:

well it is kinda like when your dog takes a dump on your floor......

It is already there and you know where not to step and maybe someone else will see it and pick it up first......

Does not work so well when you live alone though............

My first ornate was about 10 inches before he liberated himself from my tank and mylife he was not as lucky. i calculate about eight hours out dead and dry!:swear::cry::shakehead

I kinda thought everyone was a little too anal about the tops until I had one escape from my 40 breeder. There was a light sitting across it as well for additional weight.

i dont think anyone would bother getting a vid of them walking around.
it isnt good for the bichirs.
the only fish ive had jump and walk around is my ex ery ery.
he was on the floor for hours and was walking around the living room.
after an hour back in the tank he was chasing feeders.

Tonight I found my bichir in the floor just below my tank. I'm pretty sure he escaped through the gaps in my glass lid. When I did my water change I obviously filled the water line up to much. I'm also sure he was out of the water over 3 maybe closerv to 4 hours. He's 18" long. Super friendly. He is OK. In my tank now. Super upset. I'd like to think he'll never do that again, but I'll never make the mistake of filling my tank up to much again either.
I read a post, I don't see videos of anyone letting their bichir walk around. Well no?!?! They are fish and belong in water, but thank God for their lung cause they can live out of the water for a while too, haha.
