I think I might do a big tank with an ornate and an oscar...I have always loved oscars!

yea oscars are nice u should get a cool wild one!!!!!! i got a ornate in a 180 wit 6 tinfoil barbs and is a cool tank to watch...........

I have a rare long fin palmas that is a pretty awesome fish, but for a more common and easier to find I'd stick with an ornate, they are pretty cool lookin' the nice thing with bichirs is they aren't overly agressive...I house mine with angelfish and leaf fish...pretty cool set up...but be warned small fish WILL get eaten so unless you like buying mollies for food don't try and add small fish, the angels are bad enough but the bichir can and will eat them too...they are a goofy cumbersome fish somewhat but have a lot of character...mine will eat out of my hand

Ornate's are great, but like Ewurm said they will probably outgrow a 65. Check out the P. Palmas Polli. They look awesome, and would be more sufficient for a 65.
