Don't be deceived. That is a very well taken picture of a juvenile P. Delhizi. Once they are slightly grown, they can still be photograph as beautiful as the first picture, but the "outside lungs" will diminish.
 
Wow! Imagine my surprise at seeing the picture I took of one of my Polypterus delhezi in this post. I'm flattered that somebody enjoyed it enough to repost it for me.

Armored Bichirs are indeed beautiful fish. Here's another picture of the same bichir when it was a bit older. I've also included a couple more of my favorite pictures for your viewing.

Joe definitely should. Very masterful in fish photography! I never get tired of admiring the pictures. Then of course the fish also has to be beautiful to get the great results! Kudos Joe.
 
I love that armoured bichir, I ve been looking into getting one I just havent fig out what kind I wanted. Also very awesome photography =)
